2) What is SSL ?
- SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Certificate is a method which encrypt your information securely and then transfer to the server, e.g. credit card information, name and address...etc. TLS (Transport Layer Security) is a newer version of SSL. However, we usually conclude those protocol as "SSL". To visit a SSL's website, we will use https:// . If the website has a valid SSL, it will show a green tick or green bar on the address bar of your browser.
3) What is CSR?
- Certificate Signing request (CSR) is a encoded text containing common name (domain name), organization name, country information and the public key that require by the certificate authority in order to issue a SSL certificate for you. We will prepare CSR for customer and send to certificate authority. During the generation of CSR, a private key will be created and should be kept safe.
4) What is the different between RapidSSL and Geotrust SSL Certificate ?
- RapidSSL, a subsidary of Geotrust, dedicate to provide cheap SSL certificate to personal and low end user. RapidSSL only proivide SSL certificate of domain validation while Geotrust provides SSL certificate from domain validation (DV) to Extended validation (EV). They targets for business and enterprise user.
- Geotrust is the 2nd largest SSL certificate issuer which provides a variety of SSL certificate and security products serving over 100,000 customers from 150 countries in the world. Geotrust is a subsidary of Digicert and its SSL certificate is well-known and trust.
5) What is the warranty?
- Warranty is an insurance for the end user against any monetary losses when submitting a online credit card transaction on an SSL-secured site if it involves the CA’s negligence in the validation procedures.
6) What is Domain Validation (DV) ?
- Domain validation is a validation process that only verfiy the domain ownership by means on emails which is fast and simple and the SSL certificate can be issued with in minutes.
7) What is Business/Organization Validation (OV) ?
- On top of Domain validation, Organization validation is a validation process that also verfiy the business/organization if it is registered with government legally. It also verify the organization's physical address and contact organization's employee by means of telephone. So the verification process will be much longer and usually 3-7 working days.
8) What is Extended Validation(EV) ?
- On top of Organization Validation, Extended Validation is the highest security standard in the industry. It will also verify the identity of Organization's Certificate Approver and check if they have appropriate authority to apply such EV SSL. This process takes 5-14 working days.

- If customer loss the private key, change of the CSR detail or some other reasons, customer can contact us to reissue the certificate before the SSL expiry. And it is free of charge.
